Uganda’s Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA) has partnered with GET.transform to improve the country’s off-grid regulatory framework. With the support of GET.transform, ERA has created technical standards for isolated grid systems that aim to enable scaling up mini-grid development and attracting private investment into the off-grid sector.

On 27 April 2023, ERA will host a stakeholder validation workshop to introduce sector players to the updated standards as per the initial feedback provided. Next to seeking further stakeholder input, the event aims to highlight the standards’ applicability in ongoing and pipeline mini grid projects and raise overall awareness of regulatory developments in Uganda’s off-grid space.

The workshop will see contributions from the following organisations:

  • Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development (MEMD)
  • Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA)
  • European Union Delegation to Uganda
  • GET.transform
