Power system stakeholders around the world aim to realise a clean energy transformation of their systems to meet a range of environmental, economic, and reliability goals. However, decision-makers and implementers are facing significant challenges in acquiring and applying the requisite knowledge to rapidly transform power systems.
To address this need, the Global Power System Transformation (G-PST) Consortium, an expert- and practitioner-driven initiative, engages key power system operators, research and educational institutes, governments, businesses, and stakeholders in all regions of the world to accelerate clean energy transitions at the ambitious scope and scale that is required.
GIZ and GET.transform are implementing partners to the G-PST Consortium and together facilitate support to peer learning and sharing of good practices and lessons on advanced operational and engineering solutions to significantly increase RE integration activities in the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) and Africa regions.
The G-PST Consortium launch event signals a major commitment from power system operators and other key institutions to implementing sustainable energy technologies and approaches that will permanently change emissions trajectories while simultaneously improving grid reliability, resiliency, and security.
Join the official launch on 21 April, 2021 (8am EDT/2pm CET) moderated by Christie Ulman, President of the Sequoia Climate Fund. Other speakers include Jennifer Granholm, US Secretary of Energy, Kwasi Kwarteng, Secretary of State, UK Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), and Martin Keller, Director of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). A roundtable discussion with leading system operators succeeds.
