The Energy Week hosted by the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE) is a platform for energy sector cooperation and knowledge exchange among countries of the region. This year’s edition took place from 28 October – 1 November in Asunción, Paraguay with more than 500 participants.

GET.transform supported the event with expert contributions. Michael Mechlinski, Regional Window Coordinator Central America at GET.transform, formed part of the panel Resilience, Climate Change, Heat Waves, Flooding” and particularly talked about the importance of integrated energy planning as a key factor to improve resilience in the sector. He also highlighted how regional electricity integration can support Latin American countries in safeguarding energy systems against negative effects of climate change. Antonio Levy, Senior Coordinator for Latin America at GET.transform, organised and co-hosted the 2nd Regulator’s Forum which provided insights on regulation for future energy markets in the region.

GET.transform looks forward to the continued collaboration with OLADE in strengthening regional electricity integration capacities and partnerships.
